There are many types of VCs and many types of Founders.
That’s why we want you to know what we look for in the Founders we invest in, so you can understand whether you’re a good fit for us. The criteria below is just a guideline, nothing is set in stone.
The only aspect in which we make absolutely no exceptions is that we only invest in startups with Founders based in CAPUC (Colombia, Argentina, Perú, Uruguay and Chile) and strong teams in LATAM.

We thought that before connecting with us you should get to know a bit more about the Pinkers, the people running the fund. Actually, to help you out, we included some tips to help you break the ice with each of them.
TIPS TO BREAK THE ICE WITH HERNAN
- Passionate about meditation, AI, music and science
- Since he turned 40 he is trying to really get into sports; he is all about living a healthy life and would love to live at least a century (maybe two)
- He won’t be impressed by the name of the school you attended or who else invested in your startup. Better to use the time to talk about your team, strategy, and product.
- He is brutally direct and won’t ask any tricky questions: try to answer his questions straight and to the point — no need to second guess what he meant!
TIPS TO BREAK THE ICE WITH GUSTAVO
- He loves progressive rock and pistachios
- Just drop a random fact such as “to wake you up during the mornings apples are much more effective than coffee”
- Be yourself and don’t use cliches such as “the click moment” o “pain points”
TIPS TO BREAK THE ICE WITH JP
- He enjoys cocking as much as eating
- Allergic to sports
- Don’t pitch him: it makes him anxious. Just talk to him easy and straight
- Assume he reviewed at all the info you shared with him 🙂
TIPS TO BREAK THE ICE WITH NICO
- Chronic curious
- Passionate about animals, in particular orcs and sharks
- Lover of all sports (ex rugbier, mediocre tennist)
- He will only understand your pitch if it’s simple and clear. If you start dropping numbers and technical acronyms he will stop following, his mind will blank and his attention will go somewhere else
TIPS TO BREAK THE ICE WITH ERNESTO
- Digital nomad from way before it was a trend. Maybe start by asking him where he is located today: he moves around a lot!
- In love with traveling and learning different cultures and languages
- Natural born tech guy. If you ask him about the trendies startups or latest in the AI work you will derail the conversation and spend the next hour talking about that
- Originally from Madrid, Spain, but he swears he never takes naps 😉
TIPS TO BREAK THE ICE WITH SANTIAGO
- Highly analytical and big fan of business frameworks. He believes that Google Sheets are here to save the world.
- He spends his free time watching TV series such as Silicon Valley, Freak & Geeks and The Office
- Passionate about startups what can really scale
- Before talking with him, make sure you know your metrics: CAC, ROAS and LTV at the very least

- Proud asador and constant learner. Any moment is good to throw something into the parrilla
- Anything can be explained by using numbers: data is everything
- Be direct and straight to the point, he will greatly value that

- She really is into spicy food
- When you talk with her go straight to the point — she will appreciate that
- She will really love you if your startup has a triple bottom line impact, just make sure there is a real business behind it to make it sustainable
